Abstract

Against the background of digital media revolution, contemporary experimental music has broken the traditional framework dominated by acoustic musical instruments. Electronic sound, computer algorithms and digital audio processing have become core creative media for experimental composers. Different from conventional tonal music that relies on melody and harmony to convey emotion, contemporary electronic experimental music expands the boundary of musical expression through sound texture, spatial audio arrangement and real‑time algorithmic generation. This paper adopts literature research and comparative analysis methods to discuss how digital electronic media reconstruct sound materials, emotional transmission paths and audience aesthetic experience in experimental music creation. It analyzes the creative advantages brought by electronic technology, as well as existing dilemmas including emotional alienation, formal homogenization and vague aesthetic evaluation standards. The study holds that electronic experimental music should maintain the balance between technical experimentation and human emotional expression. Only by rooting technical innovation in human perceptual experience can this genre obtain lasting artistic vitality. This research provides reference for understanding the aesthetic logic of contemporary electronic experimental music.
